On Tuesday 3rd of February, fourteen carers and two staff members attended our PCAN session on ADHD and Asperger's. Using the analogy of a soccer league and the roles of 'Team Manager' and 'Referee', presenter Sue Suchocki from Applied Techniques Training drew on her vast experiences and knowledge to present an informative session offering strategies and information on how to 'help the players'. This real approach was very relevant as Sue shared a snap shot of the personal journey she has with a member her family - our presenter has ' walked the walk'.
Feedback from participants about the session included: 'It was such an interesting program' Many said that there was lots of useful information including: the types of structures to put in place; game strategies; we were given good examples. One participant said that it was good to 'know that what we are ding is on the right track' and most participants also said that they would recommend the program to family, friends and colleagues. At the end of the session, Sue commented to the Pathway staff that she was very impressed with the level of commitment and interaction of this group of carers. It was wonderful to see so many of you on the night and we look forward to seeing you all again in the near future.
