SIMPLY 1-2-3 PARENT AND CARERS
...HAVING TAUGHT MYSELF THE PARENTMAGIC MATERIAL FROM 1-2-3 MAGIC   (AUTHOR DR T.W PHELAN) IN 1997, WE HAVE BEEN USING THE STRATEGIES ON OUR OWN CHILDREN SINCE THEY WERE 4 AND 7 (WITH ADHD) YEARS OF AGE. IT TOOK ABOUT A WEEK FOR THEM  TO REALISE THAT MUM AND DAD WERE SERIOUS. THEY WERE REALLY MAD THAT WE WERE ONTO  THEIR TRICKS AND THAT THEY COULDN'T GET AWAY WITH THINGS LIKE THEY USE TO! TO BEGIN WITH WE SPENT A LOT TIME COUNTING AND THEY SPENT A LOT OF TIME IN TIMEOUT;  THEN LIKE MAGIC WE REALISED THAT WE DIDN'T GET TO THE COUNT OF 3 VERY OFTEN AT  ALL. THE FAMILY WAS MORE RELAXED AND THE HOUSEHOLD WAS LESS NOISY AS WE WERE NOT YELLING TO GET THINGS DONE. WE WERE ABLE TO SEE POSITIVES; WHICH MADE  GIVING PRAISE FOR LISTENING OR FOLLOWING THROUGH EASIER. WE HAD SOME BACKWARD SLIDES WHEN ANYONE WAS SICK OR IF OUR ROUTINE CHANGED BUT WE SOON STARTED COUNTING AGAIN AND THINGS WOULD BE BACK ON TRACK; WE WERE ALL WORKING FROM THE SAME PAGE. THAT IS WHY I CHOSE THE 1-2-3 MAGIC PRESENTATION PROGRAM DEVELOPED BY T. W PHELAN TO TEACH TO OTHERS THROUGH SIMPLY 1-2-3®. I KNOW IT WORKS. I HAVE BEEN SURROUNDED BY CHILDREN (MANY WITH  DISABILITIES) AND INVOLVED WITH FAMILIES WHO ARE LOOKING FOR STRATEGIES THAT WORK AT HOME. .........."MY PARTNER AND I USED THE SIMPLY 1-2-3 PROGRAM WITH OUR DAUGHTER. WE HAVE FOUND THAT WE WERE ABLE TO CONTROL OUR OWN REACTIONS AND OUR CHILD'S TANTRUMS GOT LESS. OUR DAUGHTER'S CONFIDENCE AND SELF REGULATION HAS GROWN. I HAVE DONE A SIMILARLY NAMED PROGRAM BUT EVERYTHING SIMPLY 1-2-3 SHOWED ME WAS SO EASY TO UNDERSTAND; IT WAS GREAT TO LEARN NEW THINGS BUT ALSO TO KNOW SOME THINGS THAT DO ARE ALREADY GOOD. ALL MY EXPECTATIONS WERE MET AS I WAS GIVEN PRACTICAL ADVICE TO IMPLEMENT THE PROGRAM; I GOT EVERYTHING I WAS HOPING FOR. ...THIS PROGRAM  COULD BE USED AT HOME AND IN DAY CARE/PREP/SCHOOL SETTINGS TO PROVIDE CONSISTENCY FOR THE CHILDREN.
....EFFECTIVE PROGRAM THAT PROMOTES CONSISTENCY IN THE SERVICE. GREAT SLIDES THAT CAN BE USED FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. GROUP SESSION CREATED VALUABLE TEAMWORK; A SIMPLE WAY TO PROMOTE AND MAINTAIN APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOUR THAT ALL STAFF CAN FOLLOW; THE INFORMATION DELIVERED TEACHES STAFF HOW TO HANDLE DIFFERENT SITUATIONS; I HAVE GAINED THE CONFIDENCE TO DEAL WITH DIFFICULT AND DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOUR; IT WAS GREAT TO KNOW THAT WE ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK AND THE WORKSHOP HAS REINFORCED HOW TO CONTINUE TO SUCCEED; TO REFLECT ON MY OWN WAY OF TEACHING AND UNDERSTANDING WHICH STEPS I CAN IMPROVE ON TO MAKE MY DAY EASIER AND MORE FUN; VERY CLEAR BEHAVIOUR MANAGEMENT PLAN THAT CAN BE SET UP IN ALL CLASSROOMS; SUE WAS WELL SPOKEN AND THE INFORMATION WAS EASY TO FOLLOW; IT IS A REMINDER OF HOW A SIMPLE BEHAVIOUR MODEL MAY BE THE BEST MODEL. SUE BRINGS A WEALTH OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE ABOUT HOW TO WORK WITH THESE STUDENTS. AS AN EDUCATOR AND SPECIAL NEEDS COORDINATOR I WAS INSPIRED BY THE PLETHORA OF USEFUL STRATEGIES OFFERED BY SUE.

ADULT INDIVIDUAL'S WITH THE DISORDER/S: I LEARNT A LOT ABOUT MY OWN DISABILITY; EVERYONE WHO DOESN'T UNDERSTAND ASPERGER'S SHOULD GO TO THIS PRESENTATION; AS AN ASPIE MAN, I LIKED THAT ALL THE INFORMATION WAS TRUE TO MY EXPERIENCES. ASPIES AREN'T BROKEN, THEY JUST HAVE CHALLENGES YOU CAN'T SEE.

EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUES-TAPPING...I MET A WONDERFUL LADY AT A PARTY IN 2008. WE SPOKE ABOUT THIS THING CALLED EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUES OR  TAPPING. A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER I ARRANGED A SESSION WITH PAMELA TO TRY EFT AND THE TECHNIQUES SHE HAD TOLD ME ABOUT. DURING THE FIRST SESSION I LEARNED THAT I WAS STILL CARRYING AROUND LOT OF HIDDEN EMOTION OVER THE LOSS OF MY DAD WHEN I WAS 13 YEARS OLD. I THOUGHT I HAD DEALT WITH THIS AND DID NOT THINK IT WAS AN ISSUE ANY MORE. AFTER THE SESSION AND WITH PRACTICE AT HOME, I WAS ABLE TO SEE DAD'S PASSING IN A DIFFERENT LIGHT, NOW AS AN ADULT AND NOT THE YOUNG CHILD I WAS WHEN HE PASSED. I CAN TALK ABOUT HIM WITHOUT THE SADNESS, PAIN AND ANGER THAT I HAD PREVIOUSLY FELT. FROM THERE, OTHER ASPECTS SHOWED UP AND AFTER 3 SESSIONS I HAD CLARITY BACK IN MY LIFE. EFT HELPED REDUCE MY STRESS LEVELS AND EASED THE PAIN IN MY SHOULDERS THAT I HAD BEEN CARRYING AROUND. THROUGH ONGOING SESSIONS I HAVE DEALT WITH BODY IMAGE, FOOD CRAVINGS, PHOBIA OF INJECTIONS AND THE TRAUMA OF HAVING A TUMOUR REMOVED FROM MY JAW. THANKS TO PAMELA O'LEARY FROM GUIDED  SOLUTIONS I HAVE LEARNED THE SKILLS TO HELP OTHERS UNDERSTAND THE BASIC  RECIPE FOR EFT AND BRING CLARITY TO THEIR LIVES THROUGH INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS OR GROUP WORKSHOPS. I WENT ON TO STUDY LEVEL I, II AND III IN EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUES, STUDENT OF GARY CRAIG I TO V AND COMPLETED A DIPLOMA OF EFT AND I AM NOW A QUALIFIED CONSULTANT AND TRAINER IN THIS TECHNIQUE.
